Frequently Asked Questions
We know many people have questions when it comes to mental health, depression, medication management, and treatment options. In order to help address common concerns or questions from patients and the community, we have provided answers to our most frequently asked questions.
If your questions are not answered below, please contact us directly and we will respond as quickly as possible.
DO YOU ACCEPT INSURANCE?
At Manlove Brain + Body Clinic (MB+BH), we believe everyone should have access to affordable mental healthcare. We work with most insurance providers to help cover the cost of your care.
For the most accurate information on your insurance coverage, please call your insurance provider to verify outpatient mental health benefits and that MB+BH is in-network.
We will do everything we can to work with your insurance provider to cover as much as possible to relieve the financial burden of mental healthcare. However, insurance may not cover the entire cost of treatment, meaning you would be responsible for the remaining balance up to the full cost.
WHAT TYPES OF TREATMENTS DO YOU OFFER?
We offer a wide variety of medication and non medication psychiatric treatments. No matter which treatment route you and your provider choose, our team of mental health experts will provide coaching to improve your whole body health. By improving your overall health through healthy lifestyle changes, you will see better and faster results from your treatments and reduce your chances of relapse.
Our treatments include:
- Medication management for anxiety, depression, mood disorders, ADHD, psychotic disorders, and dementia
- Ketamine/esketamine therapy
- Counseling
- Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS)
- Brain health coaching
DO YOU ALLOW SERVICE ANIMALS?
For the safety and health of all patients and staff, we restrict inside clinic access to service animals only. If available, we ask that your service animal wear a vest or other proper identification.
For non-service animals, please find proper arrangements for your pets during your appointment. For the safety of your pet, we encourage you not to leave them in your vehicle or in the parking lot.
WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING TO MY FIRST APPOINTMENT?

DO YOU PRESCRIBE MEDICAL MARIJUANA?
We currently do not prescribe medicinal marijuana for patients. However, if this is part of your current healthcare plan or if you are a recreational user, we encourage you to disclose this information with your MB+BH provider during your appointment as part of your full medical history.
CAN I DRIVE AFTER MY KETAMINE TREATMENT?
The simple answer is no.
We do not allow patients to drive following their ketamine treatments due to impaied reactivity, which makes driving or operating machinery very dangerous. You will need to arrange for transportation from the clinic following your appointment and we recommend you do not drive until the next day.
WHAT REASONS MIGHT A PATIENT BE DECLINED FOR KETAMINE TREATMENTS?
Manlove Bain + Body Health takes a patient-first approach to providing mental healthcare. This means, we not only prioritize your mental health, but your physical health. We seek out the best options for you and make treatment decisions based upon your overall health history.
Here are a few important things you should know about ketamine/esketamine (Spravato) treatments with MB+BH:
- Meeting with a provider may result in receiving an alternative treatment method or plan, which does not include ketamine, based on your physical and mental health history.
- Ketamine prescriptions are suited for patients with at least 6 months of sobriety. People who are currently healing from or participating in active substance abuse will not qualify for our ketamine treatment program but may find depression relief from Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) treatments.
- Patients with psychosis or bipolar disorder must be working with a prescriber and taking medications appropriately, as ketamine alone can worsen both conditions.
- We do not treat primary pain syndromes but we do treat people with depression who also have pain, with doses of ketamine appropriate for depression.
WHAT IS A TRANSCRANIAL MAGNETIC STIMULATION (TMS) SESSION LIKE?
Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) is an outpatient procedure that has been FDA approved since 2008 to treat depression. Using magnetic pulses, TMS treats depression by stimulating the part of the brain believed to be involved in mood regulation.
During a treatment session, the patient sits comfortably in a recliner while the tech gently places the TMS coil on the patient’s scalp. The coil emits pulses that feel like a tapping sensation, “like a woodpecker.”
TMS does not require sedation and patients are able to immediately resume their daily activities following treatment.

HOW LONG IS A TRANSCRANIAL MAGNETIC STIMULATION (TMS) SESSION?
A typical treatment runs between half an hour to 40 minutes, and the patient is able to immediately resume daily activities such as driving, caring for family, or returning to work.
HOW MANY TRANSCRANIAL MAGNETIC STIMULATION (TMS) TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?
The number of required TMS treatments will be based on your current and previous medical and mental health history.
A full regimen of TMS consists of 36 treatments, with the initial 30 appointments completed daily.
IS TRANSCRANIAL MAGNETIC STIMULATION (TMS) AND KETAMINE THERAPY THE RIGHT TREATMENT FOR ME?
Whether or not TMS and Ketamine will be added to your treatment plan will depend on your medical and mental health history, along with your overall progress in treating your depression.
Your Manlove Brain + Body Health provider will be able to make this decision with you during one of your appointments.
