Meet Megan Burgard, CNP
Introducing Nurse Practitioner, Megan Burgard to the Manlove Brain and Body Health team! Originally from Hill City, South Dakota, Megan joined our team in December 2021.
After graduating from St. Olaf College with a degree in Psychology, she was a Trail Patrol for two years for South Dakota Game, Fish & Parks on the George S. Mickelson, riding her bike each day. With a passion for living a healthy lifestyle and a (not so subtle) nudge from her mom, she decided to get a nursing degree and then went on to get her Doctorate in Nursing Practice as a Family Nurse Practitioner at South Dakota State University.
Megan began her career as a nurse in 2008 and has worked in pediatrics, pediatric home health, clinical informatics and women’s health. She loves to see her patients thrive, and while there are many ways to help people feel their best, she believes that it’s important to view mental health holistically.
With a playfully competitive spirit, she enjoys playing cards, board games, and crossword puzzles with her friends and family. She also loves to spend time outdoors, hiking and camping.
A frequent traveler, Megan has met incredible people in Bangladesh, kayaked in Hawaii, and saw every free museum in London. Her wanderlust recently brought her back to visit all of the National Parks in Colorado with her family.
Leading by example, Megan inspires her patients to keep going, to try new things, and to get fresh air every day. She knows that the best way to treat mental health is to incorporate whole body improvements to her patients’ lives through diet, exercise, meditation, and building healthy relationships.
Thank you, Megan, for sharing your passion for healthy living with us!
